Who we are

Home Advantage Cover is a home plumbing and heating cover membership delivered by AFS Plumbing and Heating. When this policy says we or us, it means that company. We are the data controller for the information you give us through this website.

What we collect

When you register your interest or join, we collect your name, phone number, email address and the plan you are interested in. If you check whether your postcode is covered, that postcode is sent to a postcode lookup service to work out the distance, and we do not store it unless you go on to register.

If you become a member we also hold your address, the work carried out at your property and your payment records. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach our systems.

Why we use it

To contact you about the membership you asked about, to set up and run your cover, to attend callouts, to keep records of work done, and to meet our legal and accounting obligations. We only send marketing if you have agreed to it, and you can opt out at any time.

Who we share it with

Our engineers, so they can attend your property. Our software providers, who store data on our behalf. Our payment provider for subscriptions. We never sell your information.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become memberships are kept for up to 24 months. Member records are kept for the length of your membership and then for as long as tax and legal rules require, usually six years.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@homeadvantagecover.co.uk and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of essential cookies to make the site work, and analytics to understand how people find and use the site, including whether they arrived from a leaflet QR code. Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
